Court orders Eye camp Rebels held Cousins dead

Patna: A high court division bench of acting Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari and Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh on Thursday directed the state government to file a reply in connection with the financial irregularities case under the Sarvs Shiksha Abhiyan from 2008-13.

Another bench of Justice A.K. Tripathi imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the secretary of food and consumer protection department for appointing a person as the non-judicial member of Bhagalpur district consumer protection forum thrice.

Eye camp

Patna: An eye donation awareness programme was organised by ASG Eye Hospital at Planetarium on Thursday on the occasion of World Sight Day. During the programme, 23 people pledged to donate their eyes.

Rebels held

Ara (PTI): Two Maoists were arrested on Thursday with arms and explosives from a village under Azimabad police station in Bhojpur district. Police raided Nurpur village and nabbed the two rebels, identified as Sonadhari Yadav and Rambabu Chaudhary, said superintendent of police Naveen Chandra Jha.

Cousins dead

Katihar (PTI): Two minor cousins - Anjali Kumari (17) and Abhay (8) - died of burn injuries when their relative allegedly set their house on fire over a land dispute.
