Arrest restrain

Patna: District and sessions judge Virendra Kumar on Wednesday restrained police from arresting RJD MLA Surendra Yadav from Belaganj constituency till October 29, 2015, after hearing on an anticipatory bail petition in connection with an extortion case.

The court restrained the police from arrest of SP state chief Ramchandra Singh till November 7, 2015.

Drive snub

Patna: Samajwadi Party member Kiranmoy Nanda on Wednesday said Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, the son-in-law of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, would not campaign for the SP.

Nomination

Chhapra: Four BJP candidates, Tarkeshwar Singh, Dr CN Gupta, Janak Singh and Lal Babu Rai on Wednesday filed their nomination papers for Baniapur, Chhapra, Taraiya and Marhaura Assembly segments, respectively.

Two rebel candidates of BJP, Kanhaiya Singh and Birendra Ojha, also filed nomination papers from Chhapra and Baniapur assembly segments. Krishna Kumar Singh Mantu filed his nomination papers as a JDU candidate for Amnour assembly segment.

Ramai Ram filed his nomination paper as a JDU candidate from Bochahan reserved Assembly constituency on Wednesday.
