Residents looking for low-alcoholic drinks in the city have finally got their wish granted.

Bacardi Breezer has forayed into the Patna liquor market on Saturday. With low alcohol content (4.8 per cent by volume), it is put under the ready-to-drink (RTD) category and its core consumers are people from the 23 to 30-year-old age group.

Prohibition on hard liquor has doubtlessly furrowed many brows and Breezers will bridge the gap between soft drinks and hard alcohol. Experts say it is healthier when compared with other alcoholic beverage.

"A 275ml bottle of Breezer cannot be harmful to the body but its consumption should be regulated," said Diwakar Tejaswi, a physician in Patna.

Radiant Marketing Private Limited, a company in the city, has brought Breezer to Patna. As of now, three flavours are available - Blackberry Crush, Orange and Aam Panna. Three more - Blueberry, Jamaican Passion and Tropical Cranberry - are expected to arrive in stores within a week. A 275ml bottle of Breezer costs Rs 57 in Patna.
