The weekend is not likely to provide any relief either. “The dry westerly winds in the region are causing a steady rise in the temperature. The maximum temperature could touch 40 degrees Celsius by Sunday,” said Ashish Sen, director, India Meteorology Department (IMD), Patna, adding that the high humidity was adding to the discomfort factor.
