Boost to hygiene

Mayor Sita Sahu inaugurates a sanitary napkin-vending machine on platform number 1 of Patna Junction on Wednesday. The machine has been installed in collaboration between Patna NGO Nav Astitva Foundation and the Danapur division of East Central Railway.

Mayor Sita Sahu inaugurates a sanitary napkin-vending machine on platform number 1 of Patna Junction on Wednesday. The machine has been installed in collaboration between Patna NGO Nav Astitva Foundation and the Danapur division of East Central Railway.

This is the first time that a sanitary napkin machine has been installed in Bihar under East Central Railway. Sahu and Shubha Thakur, joint director general civil aviation department (right), launched the facility. Vineet Kumar, senior divisional commercial manager, and NGO president Pallavi Sinha were also present. One pad will be available on inserting a Rs 5 coin in the machine. The NGO treasurer, Archana, said sanitary pads would be regularly put in the machine and constant maintenance will be carried out. Similar machine would be installed at the Patna airport on March 8.
