Patna: Three bombs exploded near a bus stand on the outskirts of Rohtas town on Tuesday morning with police suspecting Maoist involvement.

The explosion occurred at the densely populated Kadirganj locality under Darigaon police station in the district, around 12km from town. There was no report of casualty or injury in the explosion.

The police later recovered 10 live low-intensity bombs, two country-made pistols, 20 detonator fuse, and a number of live cartridges from the spot.

Rohtas superintendent of police Satyaveer Singh told reporters in Rohtas that a pamphlet had been recovered from the spot, hinting at the involvement of Maoists in the explosion. "It appears that Maoists had assembled the illegal explosives and weapons to terrorise the local residents and demand money from them," he added.

He revealed that the police also seized a weapon of a different sort from the spot. "The police officers are probing the matter with utmost care and will take action accordingly," he added.
