♦ In the Council, BJP MLC Baidyanath Prasad moved “adjournment motion” and pressed for debate on lathi-charge, arrests. 

♦ JDU MLCs shouted down his pleas. BJP MLCs trooped into Well of House. Council chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh rejected motion, adjourned House till lunch. 

♦ Leader of the Opposition Sushil Kumar Modi demanded unconditional release of 35 students and withdrawal of cases against them. 

♦ He said state government should hold dialogue with students, not inflict atrocities
 
♦ Sushil even charged DGP P.K. Thakur of putting pressure on students to change their statements
