♦ In the Council, BJP MLC Baidyanath Prasad moved “adjournment motion” and pressed for debate on lathi-charge, arrests. 

JDU MLCs shouted down his pleas. BJP MLCs trooped into Well of House. Council chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh rejected motion, adjourned House till lunch. 

Leader of the Opposition Sushil Kumar Modi demanded unconditional release of 35 students and withdrawal of cases against them. 

 He said state government should hold dialogue with students, not inflict atrocities
 
Sushil even charged DGP P.K. Thakur of putting pressure on students to change their statements
