Sport entry diktat
Patna: The Indian Olympic Association has asked Bihar Olympic Association to submit the sports entries to the organising committee of Kerala National Games 2015, as the state government has withdrawn the Bihar Sports (Registration, Recognition and Regulation of Sports Association) Act 2013 and the Indian Olympic Association has revoked the ban imposed on the Bihar Olympic Association.
VC under fire
Chhapra: State information commission has recommended departmental proceedings against Jai Prakash University, Chhapra, vice-chancellor Dwijendra Gupta. Information commissioner P.K. Verma made the recommendation and slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 against public information officer Jai Ram Singh of the university after one Dudh Nath Tiwari, using RTI, sought information from the varsity.

Aurangabad: A huge quantity of empty cartridges was seized during an operation against Maoists in Pachkheri forest on Sunday.

Jehanabad: Five Maoists, including a self-proclaimed sub-zonal commander, Ravindra Yadav, were arrested from their hideouts here on Sunday.

Patna: Five persons, including a minor, received severe burn injuries when a woman poured acid on them in Madhepura district on Sunday.

Chhapra: Junior Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party leader Upendra Kushwaha on Sunday said his party would contest in reasonable number of seats under the NDA banner in the coming Assembly elections.
Priest dead
Muzaffarpur: A priest, Akshay Das (75), was found dead in Ram Janki Math, at Rahuva village under Mushari police station on Sunday.
Airstrip intruders in net
Patna: Two persons were picked up for interrogation from Purnea's Chunapur airstrip on Sunday. One of them, identified as Lilamat Ali, was seen moving in the prohibited area suspiciously on Sunday.
Later, the police detained his associate, whose identity is yet to be ascertained. Senior officers of police and intelligence agencies were grilling the duo when reports last came in.

Neglect cry
Patna: Indian Trade Union Congress leader Ajay Kumar on Sunday urged Danapur divisional railway manager N.K. Gupta to improve passengers' facility at Fatuha railway station. In a press statement, the leader said the railway station catered to the needs of thousands of passengers and it had remained neglected for years together.

Patna: Students' Oxygen Movement, which works for the cause of students, organised a debate on Sunday to discuss the importance of Surya Namaskar, a type of yoga. Several students from city schools and colleges took part in the debate.
