Man kills son

• Bhagalpur: Ravindra Yadav, a former mukhiya, shot at his two sons - Mukesh Yadav and Chhotu Yadav - following a dispute over property at Pan village under the jurisdiction of Sultanganj police station in Bhagalpur district on Tuesday. Mukesh, a government school teacher, later succumbed to his injuries. The injured has been admitted to a government hospital in Bhagalpur.

Cash loots

• Katihar: Armed men looted Rs 12 lakh from Pritam Choudhary, a businessman, near Semapur in Katihar district. Choudhary was returning to his business establishment after withdrawing money from HDFC Bank on a motorbike when he was attacked. In another incident, criminals looted Rs 5 lakh after shooting a petrol pump employee in Gopalganj district on Tuesday.

Firing arrest

• Aurangabad: The police arrested a youth for opening fire at a professional dancer during a wedding ceremony at Chilkhi Pan village under the jurisdiction of Kutumba police station on Monday night. A pistol and two live cartridges were seized from the accused, Sonu Kumar. The police have launched raids to nab three of Sonu's associates.

Rail ticket fine

• Patna: The railways in Bihar caught and fined 43,000 travellers without ticket and those not having proper ticket, and collected a penalty of Rs 15.2 crore in May this year, an East Central Railway (ECR) statement said, reports PTI. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel also held 861 persons travelling in coaches reserved for women and an amount of Rs 2.51 lakh was realised as penalty from them, the statement said.
