Cops recover bikes
Darbhanga, April 9: A gang of motorbike lifters was busted today.
Five members of the gang were produced by Darbhanga senior superintendent of police (SSP) Satya Veer Singh at a news meet. Eight motorcycles were recovered from different locations.

Harass cry
Patna: Rohtas district Truck Owners' Association president Binay Kumar Singh on Saturday alleged harassment by police in connivance with the forests and environment department. Singh wrote to governor Ram Nath Kovind and chief minister Nitish Kumar to intervene in the matter. He stated he had been targeted by the police and the department.

Patna: Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav will visit NIT-Srinagar on Sunday to meet the students who suffered injuries during a police lathicharge.

Patna: RJD state unit president Ram Chandra Purbey on Saturday appointed Sudhanshu Shekhar as the convener of the Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti Samaroh.
Scheme aid
Patna: District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Agarwal on Saturday handed over a cheque of Rs 12,000 each as first instalment to 27 people under a scheme.
Duo in net
Patna: Two people - Rajkumar and Karan Srivastava - were arrested on Saturday for snatching. Both hailed from Hajipur. The police said they used to come to Patna, rent a room for a month or so and used to snatch valuables from people.

Patna: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested Neeraj Kumar, leader of the Bournvita gang involved in land grabbing.

Patna: JDU chief spokesperson Sanjay Singh on Saturday attacked Sushil Kumar Modi over his claim that the BJP and the RSS have done a lot to uplift the downtrodden.
Graft
Patna: The vigilance investigation bureau on Saturday lodged a case against eight government employees, including Kaimur district transport officer (DTO) Animesh Kumar under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Last month, the bureau officials had carried out raids at the office and residential premises of the DTO.
