Tiger bones, deer horns seized
Bettiah: At least 40kg of tiger bones and deer horns were recovered during a special drive launched by the Sashastra Seema Bal under Raghia range of the Valmiki Tiger Reserve in the wee hours of Monday.
Director of Valmiki Tiger Reserve Santosh Tiwari confirmed the seizure. The bones were kept in a huge bag and hidden under a bush. Some members of the suspected gang have been identified and raids are on to nab them, said Tiwari. According to Tiwari, the seized bones and horns could be around eight years old.
Legislator kin faces charge
Bettiah: One Pinu Kumar, younger brother of Bettiah BJP MLA Renu Devi, has been accused of assaulting Nagar Parishad ward councillor Abhishek Pandey in a case lodged with the Town Police station on Monday. Police are yet to start an investigation in the matter.

Directive
Patna: Food and consumer protection minister Shyam Rajak on Monday directed Patna district magistrate N. Saravana Kumar to take legal action against LPG agencies in Masaurhi and Punpun and oil company officials for not taking action against them even though irregularities in the functioning of these agencies were brought to their notice. The minister issued the directive while chairing a review meeting to discuss LPG cylinder availability.

Patna: Two Naxalites were arrested on Monday for allegedly planning to kill a person. The Naxalites, identified as Gurudev Yadav and Sunil Kahar, were nabbed from different places in the Paliganj police station area.
Seminar
Patna: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Monday organised a seminar on finances in the micro, small and medium enterprises sector. The seminar highlighted the opportunities and challenges in MSME funding from traditional financial institutes like government schemes, nationalised banks, public finance institutes. It also delved on how to make the sector more conducive to attract funds.

Patna: The education department on Monday held a workshop regarding plans to develop 24 colleges in educationally backward districts as model colleges.
