Body found, foul play suspected

Patna: A 30-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented house in Montessori Gali under the jurisdiction of SK Puri police station on Sunday.

Police recovered the decomposing body of one Sonu Kumar. A 9mm pistol was found near the body. The police said the deceased was a partner at a consultancy company and had been staying alone in the rented house for the past eight months. The landowner, on Sunday, called the police after he got a foul smell from the room. The police broke open the door and found the body. An FIR has been lodged in this connection.

Four escape from jail

Patna: Four criminals — Subodh, Suraj, Vinay Baitha and Sadre-e-Alam — escaped from Sitamarhi divisional jail after injuring some security personnel late on Monday night. Trouble started around 7pm after alleged sub-standard food was served. The inmates refused to accept the meal and shouted slogans. When jail superintendent Avinash Kumar Singh intervened, he was attacked by the protesters. In the melee, the four fled.

Patna: Land revenue minister Ramai Ram declared that he would go with his party’s decision to field sitting MP and former Bihar chief minister Ram Sundar Das from Hajipur parliamentary seat. Ram had launched a campaign for a JD(U) ticket from Hajipur.

Patna: Three army personnel of 21 Bihar regiment — Pawan Kumar, Nitish Kumar and Amit Kumar — were arrested from a compartment of the Capital Express on the charge of misbehaviour with women passengers on Sunday.

Cops killed

Patna: Three personnel of Bihar Military Police, who were assigned poll duty in Andhra Pradesh, were killed in a road accident near Nellore. The victims have been identified as Manager Singh (46), Kamal Ahmad Khan (30) and Sanjeev Kumar (30). The bodies were handed over to the families after according guard of honour in Delhi on Tuesday.
