Patna, March 6: Asset details of around five lakh state government employees would be uploaded on the government website latest by March 12.
“Going by the present pace of uploading data, we have decided to bring the asset details of the employees in the public domain by March 12,” a senior official of general administration department (GAD), preferring anonymity, told The Telegraph.
He, however, added that if the uploading work progresses faster, the details might be put up on the website a day or two earlier than the deadline. “If details of all the employees are not uploaded by March 12, the details of the remaining employees would be brought into public domain in the next phase,” added the GAD official. Special arrangements have been made to undertake the Herculean task of uploading the asset details of about 5 lakh state government employees, right from those belonging to the group III employees to all-India services.
Offices of district magistrates (DMs), departmental heads and corporations are the centres where the uploading work is being carried out. While the workload at department and corporation offices is less as data of only a few hundred employees have to be uploaded, the same does not apply in case of offices of DMs where details of employees numbering between 15000 to 20000 are being uploaded.
“Given the fact that around five-page details have to be scanned and uploaded for one employee and around two minutes time is required for scanning and uploading one page information, one can easily assess the magnitude of work going on at district level,” said the GAD official.
He said that teams of ten computer professionals have been deputed in offices of each DM and their work is being coordinated by the IT managers posted in districts. The scan-ned information is being uploaded on the portal of Bihar Prashasnik Sudhar Mission (BPSM). By Saturday evening, details of around 1.25 lakh employees had been uploaded.
BPSM is a joint initiative of the state government and UK’s Department for International Development for ushering in administrative reforms.
