Bihar inspector-general (CID-weaker section) Anil Kishore Yadav on Saturday ordered the arrest of PMCH principal S.N. Sinha for allegedly assaulting a junior doctor on the campus on November 16, 2016.
The PMCH principal and junior doctor, Alok Kumar, got into a scuffle after Sinha objected to Kumar riding a motorcycle in the "no vehicle zone" of the PMCH campus. The exchange turned ugly when Sinha slapped Kumar, who retaliated with a punch.
Both parties lodged FIRs with the Pirbahore police station after the incident, and inspector general Yadav - who reviewed the cases - observed that Sinha's complaint was promptly dealt with, but Kumar's complaint was dismissed with vague comments. Yadav's letter to deputy inspector-general Shalin and Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj held the PMCH principal guilty of provoking the incident and ordered his arrest.
Maharaaj said: "I have not received any letter ordering the principal's arrest."
