Queen maker Vikas Bahl is ready for his next directorial outing after last year's dud Shaandaar and the hero of his story this time is Anand Kumar, the mathematician.
The ace mathematician and Super 30 founder is not changing professions. The makers have decided to write a script centred on Anand's life - his struggle and contribution to society. He signed the contract for the film at his home with producers Vinay Sinha and Preeti Sinha from Reel Life Entertainment banner.
Sanjeev Dutta who has written scripts of Bollywood hits such as Page 3, Life in a Metro, Gangster and Barfi! among others will pen new work's script too.
"I came to know about Anand from my wife," said Sanjeev who was present at the signing with the producers and director Vikas. "She told me from her newspaper readings how he is grooming students to clear the IIT entrance examination. I decided to dig more details about his life and decided to make a biopic on Anand."
Sanjeev will prepare the script for six months after interactions with Anand's Super 30 students, friends and colleagues.
The film will be shot in Patna and other parts of Bihar. The actor to play Anand has not been picked yet.
"According to the contract signed with the makers, 12.5 per cent of the film's profit will be used for expansion of Super 30," said a visibly happy Anand.
This is not the first time that Bollywood has expressed interest in a biopic on Anand. Few years ago, director Anurag Basu and Priyanka Chopra had spoken to the Super 30 founder on such a project but it did not materialise.
Sources said Basu had come to Patna while Priyanka spoke to Anand over the phone.
Director Vikas, whose 2014 film Queen propelled Kangana Ranaut to her position as one of the top actresses in the country, said: "The movie will be different from the usual Bollywood masala films as it will be an inspiration for youngsters. How a man with firm determination and dedication can not only change his life but also contribute to society is a story to watch."
