Patna: Mathematician Anand Kumar will have a pivotal role in the making of Super 30, a biopic on the founder of the IIT entrance examination tutorial.
Makers of Super 30, in which Hrithik Roshan is playing the lead, are taking inputs from Super 30 founder Anand for almost all its aspects.
The latest being related to the music for the film for which Anand had a detailed discussion with director Vikas Bahl and musician duo Ajay-Atul, who are composing for the film.
The musician duo is recipient of best music direction award at the 56th National Film Awards for their contribution to Marathi film Jogwa.
Earlier, Anand also had a detailed discussion with Bahl and scriptwriter Sanjeev Dutt. Bahl and his team had visited the residence of Anand in Patna to get an idea of Super 30.
"Four days back Anand had a detailed discussion with Ajay-Atul on the music of the film during which Vikas Bahl was also present," a source close to Anand told The Telegraph on Tuesday. The discussion was mostly on the family background of Anand and the kind of environment in which he grew up.
During the discussion, Anand said his father late Rajendra Prasad, used to play violin and the tradition was passed on to his younger brother Pranav Kumar.
Pranav is in Mumbai these days as his character, too, would feature in the film and its makers want to get a feel of his personality before finalising the actor for the role.
Pranav has played an important role in the success of Super 30, as he and other family members, worked hard in the background to provide support to run the initiative successfully.
Musician duo Ajay-Atul, known for coming up with music of different shades, assured Anand that people would definitely connect with the music of the film, as it would be composed keeping the subject in mind. The film, scheduled to release on November 23, is likely to have seven songs.
"The duo is known for coming up with variety. They have something unique about them which people like and the film on Super 30 would provide them the right opportunity to be as much innovative as they want to," said the source.
About his meeting with people associated with the film, Anand said it was good that from the director to the music director all were involved in making a quality film and are going into the minute details before finalising the work. "I am confident viewers will appreciate it," he added.
The shooting of the film commenced on Basant Panchami on January 22 and a small scene was shot in Mumbai.
"The makers chose the day as on this day we worship Goddess Saraswati who is considered to be a source of all knowledge. As the film is on education, the makers thought of starting the shoot on this auspicious day," said a source associated with the film.
Hrithik came up with a tweet on his official Twitter handle @iHrithik on January 22 saying: "On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami, I am beginning my journey of Super 30 where I am playing a teacher for the first time. May the Goddess of learning bless this effort."
Started in 2002, Super 30 offers free coaching for IIT entrance examination to meritorious students coming from the weaker section of the society. Selected students stay with Anand and they are also given food for free during their stay.
So far this one-of-its-kind initiative has been able to send 396 of its students to different IITs of the country while the remaining have been selected for other elite engineering colleges.
