Patna, Aug. 17: The mayor of Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC), Afzal Imam, has said the board of the civic body would decide its contract with A2Z Infrastructure Private Limited.
The statement comes at a time when the state urban development department is yet to decide the issue of payment to the private agency, which provides the sanitation facilities in the state capital.
The company has been on strike since July 21 this year when PMC raised a question mark over its performance and bills worth Rs 7.6 crore.
“It has been long since the matter was referred to the department but there is no official word from them over the disposal of the matter so far. In this case, a standing committee meeting has been called on August 23 and the corporation board meeting has been called on August 27 to discuss the report presented by the PMC officials,” Imam said.
He said: “This is the first time we will conduct a meeting after PMC report over the bills has been out. We will discuss things more logically.”
On July 30, The Telegraph had reported that the state urban development department has constituted a separate committee to look into the payment to the private agency.
