Patna, Aug. 19: Nine persons have been arrested in connection with Wednesday’s incident in which a tractor was torched and its driver was thrown into the flames in Bhusaula-Danapur area under Phulwari police station in Danapur.

The tractor had mowed down three children cycling on the road, killing a five-year-old on the spot.

The police, in their defence, said a team of cops tried to resist the crowd from burning the tractor driver, Bijendra Ram, alive. “The patrol party had tried to prevent the incident,” Phulwari station house officer said.
