Munger, Nov. 7 (PTI): Two villagers were arrested for allegedly firing at a convoy of vehicles of superintendent of police (SP) P. Kannan and deputy SP Atish Chandra at Gobadda village in Munger district last night, Chandra said.

The SP and deputy SP with a convoy carrying policemen and Central Reserve Police Force personnel were returning to Munger after search operations, when some villagers fired at the vehicles, he said.

The villagers fired as they suspected that those travelling in the vehicles might be Naxalites, Chandra said adding that no one was hurt. The two were taken into custody for interrogation, Chandra added.
