Walk for women

A rally organised by NGO Swayam to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on November 25. The International Campaign to Stop Violence against Women and Girls is observed every year from November 25 to December 10 to raise public awareness on the issue. This year's rally began from the Y Channel in Esplanade and made its way to Ramleela Maidan, raising slogans against increasing incidents of domestic violence in the state, and highlighting how Bengal recorded the highest number of cases of marital violence in India in 2015, as mentioned in the National Crime Records Bureau report
