Art for a cause
Rotary Club of Calcutta Mega City is committed to the service of the community with mega projects, addressing various issues like eliminating poverty and hunger, illiteracy and lack of health care. The Club also plans to adopt a few primary schools with multi-purpose objectives, such as improvement of infrastructure and introduction of vocational and computer training programmes. To raise funds for its girl child education project Sukanya Sparsh, it presents the ongoing international exhibition of paintings and sculpture by modern masters. It features works by renowned artists including Ramananda Bandyopadhyay, Jogen Chowdhury, Shuvaprasanna, Samir Aich, Alexander Takarev, Lynne Davis and Rehany Akan, amongst others, who have donated the works on display for this noble cause.
