The state tourism department will deploy a fleet of 15 buses — 10 AC and five non-AC — to take pandal-hoppers to 20 prominent Pujas in north and south Calcutta. The services will be available from Chaturthi to Dashami. The fare is Rs 750 in an AC bus and Rs 500 in a non-AC bus. Bookings can be made at the department’s BBD Bag (East) office.
Vice-chancellor: The tenure of the vice-chancellor of Sidho-Kanho Birsa University, Tapati Mukherjee, has been extended by six months. The term of the VC was to end on October 5. The university was set up in 2010.
