Malda, Aug. 7: A primary teachers’ training institute was inaugurated for the first time in north Bengal by state food processing minister Sailen Sarkar today. The institute is a private initiative.

About 25 km away from Malda town, the new institute at Kamalpur village in Kaliachak police station area, will impart training to 150 students for teaching in primary schools.

The minister said the government has approved 37 such institutes by private entrepreneurs in 18 districts.
