Calcutta High Court has fixed December 5 for the final hearing of a plea by actor Vikram Chatterjee seeking quashing of charges drawn against him by an Alipore court.
Vikram was driving model-actor Sonika Singh Chauhan home in his Toyota Corolla Altis early on April 29, 2017, when the car crashed on Rashbehari Avenue, killing her.
Vikram, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and later obtained bail.

The Alipore court had fixed December 3 for framing charges against Vikram, but Justice Shivkant Prasad of Calcutta High Court on Wednesday asked the investigators to request Alipore court to defer the framing of charges by a week as the issue was pending in the high court.
Vikram has been charged with causing death by a rash or negligent act under Section 304 of the IPC but had moved a petition before a high court vacation bench, seeking an order to quash the charges against him.
He had earlier moved a similar petition before the Alipore sessions judge, which was rejected.
But Justice Pratik Prakash Banerjee, a vacation judge of the high court, issued an interim stay on the proceedings and forwarded the matter to be heard by a regular bench of the court after the vacation.
The case came up before Justice Prasad. When lawyers told him the Alipore court had fixed December 3 for framing charges against Vikram, he decided to hear the petition urgently.
