A track littered with pebbles, mud, sand, tattered bridges and the final hurdle — a pool of water! The one that tackles it all bags the title of “Coolest Robot”. Welcome to Srijan 2012, the annual techno-management fest, organised by Jadavpur University, in association with t2.
Srijan, in its fifth year, was held from February 24 to 26 and saw students from various city colleges and outside come together on the JU Salt Lake campus. The first two days were the prelims. The final morning started with a debate on “Nuclear power — a boon or curse”.
“It was a pleasant surprise, as this was our first attempt,” said Abhiroop Gupta, a member of the winning trio from JU.
It was followed by Robokix, a football match for robots. Future Institute of Engineering and Technology won the Deathrace. Robowars with 180 participants and 46 teams saw Camellia Institute of Technology emerge as the winners.
“We are overwhelmed by the response,” smiled Amit Mishra, a member of the fest organising committee.
