Siliguri, April 4: Reliance Telecom Limited will slash its STD rates by 46 per cent and roaming activation charge by 37 per cent for its mobile customers from April 6 midnight.
All post-paid subscribers of Reliance network can also avail of “call divert” facility by default.
According to Reliance officials, STD rates will be reduced from the existing Rs 150 to Rs 80. At the same time, the roaming activation charge will be slashed to Rs 115 from the existing Rs 185. Besides, Smart pre-paid subscribers can now activate their roaming facility until their balance is Rs 115.
Circle Head of Reliance Telecom, M.S.A. Haq said: “We have slashed the threshold rate because service providers nation-wide have revised their STD rates. Even the instant users can avail the facilities being extended”.
From April 6, all unregistered, unused and valid “Smart Recharge Vouchers” and “Smart Starter packs,” irrespective of STD threshold printed therein, will be superseded and converted, to match the new revised STD threshold. Calls may be diverted to voice mail or any other Reliance number in West Bengal and land numbers of 25 towns including Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Gangtok.
“Call care service centres will also be opened in the towns where Reliance provides service. The service centres will be converted to one-stop shops catering to all customer needs,” Haq said.
