
Calcutta: Fashion devils in red with tails swishing and horns blinking and Bappida's gold diggers armed with gilted shovels and hammers added a touch of glitz to Car Rally - Ab Tak 25, presented by the Bengal Rowing Club, in association with The Telegraph, on Sunday.
The most popular event on the club's annual calendar, the car rally includes a treasure hunt where participants dress up in keeping with the name of their team and also have a slogan to match.
The Devil Wears Prada gang in Prada shades and bags was declared the best dressed team, Team Bappis in d gaadi had the best slogan - Bappida ka gaadi, Bappida ka chase, Leke aya hai gold-diggers, Jitne ke liye yeh treasure.
Thirty-one cars with four team members each were flagged off from the club. The participants drove around the city, solving picture clues that took them to the Alipore mint, Sri Sri Academy, Vidyasagar Setu, Psychiatry Institute and more.

"You might have the best 4G network and quizzard friends for help, but we have ensured all this will not help you solve the riddles," an organiser warned at a briefing before the race.
But that didn't stop many from Googling for answers or calling up home to collect items such as a 25 paise coin and silver eye makeup.
Nivedan Churiwal, Srivar Harlalka and Arpit Dhandhania won the rally. "We started this rally 25 years ago and so the name Ab Tak 25," said Surendra Bagri, the chairman of the club's entertainment committee.
