Childrens’ Day was marked by an elaborate event at Army Public School in Binnaguri on November 14.

The day began with the morning assembly which was conducted by the teachers, instead of the students.

It was followed by a mime act by the principal of the school, the theme being woman empowerment.

The teachers also presented classical, western and Nepali dances, skits, songs and recitation.

Disability Day

Asha School, an institution for the differentlyabled children, in Binnaguri Military Station observed World Disability Day on December 3.

Rebecca Chakravarty, the senior director of Family Welfare Organisation of Kripan Artillery Brigade, the students of the school and their parents participated in the event.

Several activities, which highlighted how special children could be made self-reliant and facilitating them to join the main stream, were organised at the Kripan Amusement Park as part of nature and pet therapy.

A lecture-cum-discussion on methods that can be adopted for effectively communicating and encouraging differentlyabled children was also organised. The event ended with distribution of gifts to the children.
