First day, first show
I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron on the first day (Avengers fandom rules fun Friday, April 25) because the earth's mightiest heroes have teamed up again! I will never forget the feeling of seeing the first movie. That very day I had promised myself that when the sequel hit the screen, I would be there first day, first show. I had told my college gang two months ago that we just had to watch the movie on the first day. On Thursday, while checking the online booking site, I saw that the seats were filling up fast but somehow I was unable to book my tickets. So I decided not to take a risk and rushed that very evening to Carnival Cinemas in Salt Lake. I booked tickets for the first show on Friday. The movie was worth it all.

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron on the first day because I just love Avengers! First day, first show is a must! I had seen the first film on a friend's suggestion and was absolutely awestruck! And as expected, this film really paid off! Although it was super-fast and one had to keep track of so many things at once, I think the film was mindblowing and a real treat after a wait of three long years!

Shaken & stirred
When the earth shook ( When Calcutta shook, I was... April 26), I was at my factory in Panchannagram on Chowbaga Road with my elder brother, my son and nephew. Suddenly I saw my brother, who was seated across me, trembling and then my nephew complained of dizziness. Within a few seconds, the entire chamber seemed to be shaking and I shouted "bhukamp (earthquake)". We rushed out of the building, asking everyone else to evacuate as well.

Stop the nuisance
The habit of peeing anywhere seems to be a birthright of Calcuttans (Walls are not for soiling, pee-ople! , March 19) Most men in the city have done because "others are also doing it" or "the place is already stinking" or "I am in a hurry". I think the reactive paint and its application will serve little purpose although the idea is unique in itself. Because in Calcutta, it is more of a habit, less of a compulsion.

No one does it for pleasure. While pointing out this nuisance of a habit, one must also note the absence of public toilets. There are few such facilities and the ones that are there are not maintained.

Dogs' day
If Presidency students are so worried about the well- being of stray canines (Presidency wags the dog , March 26), why don't they take some home? Misguided activism, much like misplaced sympathy, can be dangerous. There are many who feed and pet stray dogs. Instead of merely showing their affection for strays, they need to adopt, use collars, and monitor the behaviour and health of dogs.
