Alipore: The additional district judge of Alipore on Friday held eight accused guilty of abducting Partha Roy Burman, the owner of shoe company Khadim's, in 2001.

Azgar Khan, Dilshad Khan, Akhtar Hossain, Nayeem, Muzammel Sheikh, Noor Rahman alias Alam, Mizanur Rahman and Akhtar alias Palwan will have the quantum of their punishment announced on Monday.

Roy Burman had been abducted from Tiljala early on July 25, 2001. Eight days later, he was freed amid allegations that his family had paid Rs 3.75 crore in ransom.
