Most plexes, including the PVRs, Inox Quest, Inox City Centre 1 and Inox City Centre 2, will open post 4pm. Inox Swabhumi and Hiland Park will open at 6pm while Inox Hind will start at 7pm. Only Inox Forum on Elgin Road will be open all day and Inox South City from 1pm. If you are in the mood for a film after you have voted, the choices are between Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in 2 States, Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Million Dollar Arm.

lThose who want to avoid the heat and stay home can choose from an array of films — from romances like The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2 to action flicks like Die Hard, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Never Say Never Again. You can also choose to make it a family day with films like WALL-E, Home Alone and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe.

V-DAY FOOD

You may not be able to sip the draught beer at Cafe Mezzuna (until the end of polling, and if the bar opens) but you can certainly sample its bestsellers — the oven-fresh pizzas, Mezze Platter, Tomato Risotto, Brick Grill Chicken and Moroccan Lamb Chops. The dine den at Forum will open at 12.30pm.

lCatch an evening show at Quest (the 33 Syed Amir Ali Avenue mall opens at 4pm) and then head to Smoke House Deli for dinner; it opens at 7pm. Try out a refreshing salad, a creamy Mushroom Crostini or a wholesome Bacon-Wrapped Chicken with Sausage Stuffing. Don’t forget to wrap it up with their lovely Philadelphia Cheesecake.

lWhat better way to ‘chill’ and make the most of the last day of the extended weekend than by sipping some home-made coolers? And this being the season of mangoes, those shakes just got yummier! Rakhi Purnima Dasgupta of Kewpie’s suggests a couple of two-minute recipes:

Mango Milkshake (for two)

Ingredients

• One-and-a-half cup milk
• 1 mango, cut into small pieces
• Sugar (to taste; may be one tablespoon)
• Ice

Method

• Put all ingredients in a blender. Serve with scoops of mango ice cream.

Mango Lassi (for two)

Ingredients

• Yoghurt (200g)
• 1 mango, cut into small pieces
• Quarter-cup water
• Sugar (to taste)
• A pinch of salt
• Ice (optional)

Method

• Whisk water and yoghurt. Put the mixture in a blender. Add mango pieces, ice and sugar. Mix in a pinch of salt and serve. If you don’t want fibres, you can always strain

SPORTS ACTION

The day’s IPL action is worth waiting for. Malinga vs Warner and Steyn vs Pollard unfolds at 8pm when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Mumbai Indians.

If football is your choice, you could spend the day catching the highlights of all 10 matches from Sunday’s Premiership finale and relive the magic moments.

If aces and ripping forehands and backhands are your definition of fun, then a siesta later, catch live action from the clay courts of the Rome Masters, 4.30pm onwards.

I will go to cast my vote in the afternoon. My daughter Rishona turns three on Monday, so I will definitely cook a special dish. In the evening, Rishona and I will visit CINI Urban Unit, an NGO at Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road, to give away gifts to the children there
