Calcutta, Sept. 30: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to visit the Tin Bigha corridor in Cooch Behar on or before October 8 to assess the condition of Bangladesh nationals living in the two villages land-locked by Indian territory.
The director-general of the Border Security Force (BSF), Raman Srivastava, said: “My Bangladeshi counterpart wanted to know if the Prime Minister (Hasina) would face any problems during her visit to Tin Bigha. We will give him security inputs.”
On September 6, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had, during a trip to Dhaka, signed a treaty with Hasina to keep the corridor open for 24 hours so that the residents of the enclave have access to Bangladesh.
The enclave consists of Dahagram and Angrapota villages. Earlier, the corridor used to be open from 6am to 6pm .
