Siliguri, Nov. 18: Jet Airways will now operate daily flights between Calcutta and Bagdogra, starting November 22. This will be followed by regular air services between New Delhi and Bagdogra. Earlier, the private airlines used to operate flights to Calcutta only four days in a week.
The revised timings are as follows: Flight 9W-618 will leave Bagdogra at 1:30 pm and arrive at Calcutta at 2:30 pm. Flight 9W-617 will depart from Calcutta at 12 noon and arrive at Bagdogra at 1: 30 pm.
Flight 9W-601 will depart from New Delhi at 10:10 and arrive Bagdogra via Guwahati at 1:45 pm. Flight no. 9W-602 will leave Bagdogra at 12:35 pm and arrive at New Delhi via Guwahati at 4:10 p.m.
Jalpaiguri: State minister for municipal affairs and urban development Asok Bhattacharya presided over a meeting with the chairmen and officials of Malbazar, Jalpaiguri and Dhupguri civic bodies on Monday. Jalpaiguri district magistrate, North Bengal divisional commissioner attended the meeting.
Darjeeling: The 3rd general meeting of the Loreto College alumni and authorities was held on Sunday. It is learnt that the college will introduce new courses like French, tourism and home management shortly. Plans are also afoot to convert the college into a self-financing institution.
Darjeeling: The 40th anniversary celebration of the North Bengal University was held at the Salesian College, Sonada on Saturday. NBU vice-chancellor Piyush Kanti Saha was the chief guest.
