Police began combing in the area and recovered some bombs. However, no one could be arrested in this connection till Sunday night.

All the injured persons had come to attend a wedding ceremony as guests at the residence of one Suresh Mahato.

Police and local sources said that trouble broke out a little past midnight, when the relatives and guests were celebrating, dancing to loud music, and some other guests were simultaneously bursting crackers.

The late-night celebrations with loud music angered some neighbours.

Allegedly, one of them, Ashique Khan, arrived at the wedding venue and asked Mahato and his guests to stop creating noise. An altercation followed as Mahato refused.

An angry Khan left the spot only to return within a few minutes along with some of his family members.

Eyewitnesses alleged that during this time Khan and his men hurled bombs indiscriminately inside the wedding venue unleashing panic among guests and family members.

“There was a problem earlier over playing music.... It was sorted out with the intervention of all. We could not imagine they would return and attack us. A little past midnight we heard some blasting sounds.... we thought they were crackers. But we soon realised that people were hurling bombs. By then some of the guests were injured,” a relative of Mahato, who was present at the wedding, said.
