Three BJP workers were arrested on Friday over a blast that had ripped through an abandoned government building near here on Thursday morning.

Uttam Dhibar, Sheikh Ariful and Nazrul Sheikh were produced in a court in Bolpur and remanded in police custody for five days. “The three played a role in stockpiling bombs in the building. Raids are on to arrest others,” Birbhum police chief Shyam Singh said.

Bandel murder arrest

BJP leader Sanjay Mishra was arrested from Bihar’s Patna on Friday in connection with the murder of Dilip Ram of Trinamul at Bandel on June 29.
