Adhish Sinha, of the Sinha family of Kandi, died after prolonged illness in the city on Friday.

A graduate from Presidency College, Sinha studied physics at the Imperial College in London, before returning to Bengal.

He was 59 and is survived by his mother Abha, wife Mary and brothers Bikash Sinha, director of the city-based Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, and Atish Sinha, leader of the Congress legislative party.
