Krishnagar, Feb. 26: Three men in their 30s kidnapped a girl after she stepped out of her Madhyamik exam centre in Kalyani yesterday.

Subrata Mallick, Guddu Singh and Mrityunjoy Roy took control of her father’s Tata Indica that came to pick her up and she walked into their trap. One of the men was allegedly holding a gun on the driver.

After travelling a short distance, the girl said she was hungry and one of the kidnappers went to get some snacks. The girl caught the three off guard and raised the alarm at Madanpur near Kalyani, 50km from Calcutta.

Local people surrounded the car in no time and rescued the girl, a resident of Naihati in North 24-Parganas. The kidnappers were thrashed and handed over to police.
