The accused are Swanam Biswas, 28, Sabuj Chowdhury, 24, Avijit Das, 25, and Rakesh Bhowmick, 24. The fifth accused person is a minor.

According to the complaint, Rakesh, who was known to the victim, took the girl for a ride and allegedly raped her in a deserted field a fortnight ago. On Thursday, he allegedly threatened the girl and brought her to a deserted house. There, Rakesh and four others allegedly raped her till she fell critically ill.

The incident came to light when the victim’s mother called her on her mobile phone late in the evening.
