Hoichoi has dropped the announcement video of its upcoming original series, Advocate Achinta Aich season 2. A courtroom drama featuring its eponymous protagonist played once again by Ritwick Chakraborty, it promises to offer an exciting blend of mystery and intrigue, as Aich sets out to tackle yet another criminal case in his unconventional style. As seen in the vastly popular season 1 of the series, Advocate Achinta Aich is a young lawyer yet to establish his reputation in legal circles, but he rises to the occasion to win the day for his client in spite of the powerful case presented against her in court by a senior advocate of much fame and renown.

The official poster reveal had suggested that Achinta may take up a case in defence of a little girl, Nupur. Though nothing about the legal aspect of the plot of season 2 is disclosed in the announcement video, the short clip is enough to arouse the interest of viewers with its humorous take on the titular character. Focusing on Aich’s quirky, almost eccentric nature, it begins by showing him daydreaming. He dreams that he is being congratulated and mobbed by media persons after his success in a new case.

However, a mosquito buzzing overhead destroys his blissful stupor, and he is rudely shaken out of it when the insect is loudly swatted by his assistant Lakhkhan Bhim Sardar (Debraj Bhattacharya). His exasperation is short-lived as the phone on his desk begins to ring. Aich immediately answers it in a most serious, business-like tone, and listens intently to the caller at the other end of the line. He hangs up and informs his assistant that they have been assigned another case, a mixture of astonishment and disbelief writ large on both their faces.

Reawakening the interest of viewers in Achinta Aich, the audio-visual effectively recalls the young advocate’s idiosyncrasies as a legal professional and the unusual approach he adopts in solving his cases. The video serves as a gentle but potent reminder of the new season in which Aich will again be seen defending his client in court in a high-stakes case, in his unique, non-conformist and unorthodox style. Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, Advocate Achinta Aich season 2 will start streaming on Hoichoi on August 15.
