Guwahati: Jatin Bora, actor and chairman of Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation (ASFFDC), on Sunday announced that his new film, Ratnakar, would be released next year.

Ratnakar will be the second directorial venture of Bora after his debut, Adhinayak, produced 11 years ago. Ratnakar is written by Abhijit Bhattacharya and will be produced under Bora's own production house, JB Production.

"After acting in around 50 Assamese and other language films, I want to make my dream project. Earlier, in my first film, I could not give 100 per cent effort because of inexperience. But now I am armed with experience. I am confident that Assam will get a good entertaining film."

Bora said filming will start from April next, after the schedule of mobile theatre is over. Bora has been working as the lead in a mobile theatre group - Surya Theatre. The film will be shot at various location of Assam, Meghalaya and Rajasthan.

"I will pull out all the stops to make the best film. I cannot talk about the budget at this moment. But I will never compromise with money. If needed, I will borrow money," Bora said.

"As the chairman of ASFFDC, I am now working toward setting up new cinema halls across the state. I have already submitted a proposal to the state government to set up at least 35 mini cinemas in the state and renovate some old theatres. I hope by next year we can carry out this project. Absence of halls is a major problem being faced by the Assamese film industry. Hope this project helps," he said.

Bora's wife and co-producer Nabanita Sarma Bora said, "After reading the script I am sure that Ratanakar will be a hit and will be the most entertaining film of our industry."
