Who got sporty: 200 participants across 20 track and field events
Sole-stirring: The Shoe Race for the junior section. Junior girls and boys, 10 each in their respective categories, had to run 50m barefoot, put on their PT keds, laces and all, and run back. Call it fastest fingers first. Boy wonders were Amarjeet Kumar (Class IV, Dayanand House), Subham Raj (Class III, Shradhanand House) and Subham Snehil (Class III, Hansraj House). Girl go-getters were Laxmi Laghuri (Class III, Dayanand House), Sneha Kumari (Class IV, Shradhanand House) and Deepika Jha (Class V, Shradhanand House)
Most impressed: Chief guest IG (special branch) S.N. Pradhan, who earlier formally inaugurated the event hoisting the sports flag
Thought of the day: Put forth by deputy director of sports department Sarojini Lakra. “Irrespective of social, economic and family background, it is the sustained and tireless efforts of sportspersons that bring them glory,” she said
