Calcutta: Shah Rukh Khan, the principal owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders, said he was sad that Gautam Gambhir and Co. lost Saturday's match by nine runs to Mumbai Indians.
"It was our last home match of IPL X at the Eden. I am sad that we could not give the fans a reason to smile. We have lost some close matches and that has made the situation a bit tough.
"Now, it's a matter of three matches... The two play-offs and the final... Hopefully we will come back with the trophy," Shah Rukh said while leaving the Eden.
Shah Rukh said Calcutta's love for KKR is the driving force behind the success of the franchise.
"Ten years of association... 10 years of unadulterated love... We have achieved so much because of affection we have got from this city and the fans. We would like to come back here again."
Shah Rukh said the Eden has been fantastic all through.
