London: After a decade of hostility and court cases, Sir Ian Botham has said he could join hands with Imran Khan and work towards the eradication of cancer.
While Pakistan’s only World Cup-winning captain started the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in Lahore in the mid-Nineties, Sir Ian (also a former captain) is president of Leukaemia Research.
Both, of course, have been among the greatest of allrounders.
Asked if they could work together, Sir Ian told The Telegraph on Monday: “It would be possible… The work we’re doing is actually interlinked… We’re doing research and Imran is focusing on the healing side…”
Till late in the evening, Imran (a Member of the National Assembly) couldn’t be reached for a reaction.
