Berlin: Arvind Bhat and the doubles duo of Ashwini Ponnappa and Jwala Gutta entered the pre-quarter finals of the German Open Grand Prix Gold on Wednesday. Bhat defeated local qualifier Patrick Kaemnitz 21-10, 24-22 and in the doubles match, Jwala-Ashwini beat the Indonesian pair of Suci Rizky Andini and Maretha Dea Giovani 21-17, 21-16.

London: Force India will have a maximum of three days testing with their new F1 car before the start of the season after the team said it would not debut in Spain until Friday. “We are aiming to get out on Friday and the new car will run as much as possible over the weekend,” COO Otmar Szafnauer said on Wednesday.”
New driver
London: British driver Will Stevens will race for Manor F1, formerly Marussia, this season after new investors brought the former F1 outfit back from the brink of oblivion. They have yet to name a second driver but indicated they would be present for the opening Australian Grand Prix on March 15.
