Calcutta: Former India Test cricketer Rusi Framroze Surti died in Mumbai on Sunday.
The Australia-based Surti, who was on a holiday, died after being hospitalised a few days ago following a heart attack, according to Nari Contractor. He was 76.
Incidentally, Surti, who was a brilliant fielder too, played his 26th and final Test at the CCI against the Bill Lawry-led Australia in November 1969.
Meanwhile, the BCCI vice-president Niranjan Shah expressed his shock.
“He was a brilliant cricketer,” Shah said in a media release.
