Rajkot: Saurashtra’s Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja shared a record-breaking 520-run unbeaten partnership for the fifth wicket to help the hosts pile a daunting score of 620 for four declared on the second day of the elite division Ranji Trophy match against Orissa at the SCA stadium here.
Saurashtra, resuming at 273 for four, did not loss any wicket on Tuesday as both the overnight batsmen, Pujara (302 ..) and Jadeja (232 ..) notched up another 347 runs.
Pujara, who had scored two triple centuries against Maharashtra and Mumbai in Under-22 CK Nayudu tournament a few weeks back, hit his first triple century in the Ranji Trophy. He spent 600 minutes at the crease and hit 33 fours and three sixes while facing 421 balls. Ravindra Jadeja, who faced 362 balls during his 454-minute stint in the middle, smashed 20 fours to score his maiden double hundred.
