Chittagong: Munaf Patel on Friday became India’s third victim of injury, after Manoj Tiwary and Sreesanth, during the ongoing tour of Bangladesh. The pacer, who suffered a lower back spasm during nets on the eve of the opening Test, is going back home and will be replaced by Delhi’s Ishant Sharma in the squad.

Munaf was a part of the Indian thinktank’s strategy for the first Test. On Friday morning, he failed a fitness test and it was found out he would not recover even for the second Test in Dhaka.

Cricket manager Ravi Shastri informed the BCCI of his unavailability.
