Shib Shankar Paul, who has been included in the India A squad for tours of Zimbabwe and Kenya, has bagged both the Best Cricketer and the Best Fast Bowler awards for the 2003-04 season. This was announced by the Cricket Association of Bengal here on Tuesday. Middle-order batsman Arindam Das was named the Best Gentleman Cricketer.
YMCA Chowringhee A and Calcutta Port Trust have moved into the final of the Gupta Memorial team table tennis championships at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. In the semi-finals on Tuesday, YMCA beat Lake Athletic Club 3-1, while Port beat YMCA Chowringhee B 3-0. The final will be held on Wednesday.
