La Martiniere for Boys thrashed DPS (Ruby Park) 5-0 in a Keventer Cup match on Friday. In another match, Assembly of God Church trounced Don Bosco 6-1. St James’ edged past Julien Day School 1-0, while Future Hope HS defeated Heritage High School 3-2. In an one-sided match Julien Day (Kalyani) routed National Gigh School 5-1, while Patha Bhavan beat Saifee Hall by a brace of goals. The inter-school football tournament is presented by Debanjan Sen Foundation. Akash Dave scored four goals, while Jason Williams also got his name on the scoresheet.

Pacer Ashok Dinda and all-rounder Laxmi Ratan Shukla were announced as the joint winners of CAB’s Best Cricketer of the Year award. Dinda was also named as the best bowler while Chuni Goswami will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the association’s Annual Awards function on July 28.
