Kozhikode, Aug. 23 (PTI): Top seed Koneru Humpy beat second seed Zhao Xue of China to emerge sole leader with six points after the seventh round of the 10th Asian women’s chess championship here on Saturday.

Overnight joint leader IWM D. Harika lost to S. Vijayalakshmi and the duo was in second spot along with Vietnam’s Lie Kieu Thien Kim and Hoang Thanh Trang with five points each.

Bhagyashree Thipsay, who drew with Zhang Jilin of China, was third with Jilin, Yuanyuan and Li Ruofan of China. Ruofan beat Nisha Mohota, who was awarded the WGM title last week.
